File corruption affects all kinds of files including .ipd files. An unexpected system shutdown, power surge, and malicious programs can all cause file corruption as can failing hardware and other events.
Solutions/Recommendations:
If your .ipd file is corrupt or has been deleted, you may not be able to restore your Blackberry. Fortunately, there are options including using data recovery software to recover your files.
In addition, if you are having file corruption issues, you should use a registry cleaner to prevent further issues. For example, if a power surge caused file corruption, corrupt files could cause further computer errors including computer crashes which can in turn cause more file corruption. Cleaning the registry can stop this snowball effect and prevent future errors.
In addition to backing up the Blackberry and creating and storing .ipd files on your computer, consider backing up the .ipd files to a tape backup or some other backup system.
